Live Performance has moved into cyberspace and now lives on a cyber-stage, which has created a response to develop new technologies and platforms to accommodate the specific needs of theater-making. Our research concerns technology both explicitly made for the theater as well as technology originally made for other purposes. We offer a humble list of software and hardware recommendations for your theatrical exploration. If you think we’re missing something, please let us know!

*disclaimer - There is some confusion involving categorizing some of these tools as they can belong in multiple categories. In the interest of not having many overlapping tools, we have tried our best to organize them via their primary function. For instance, Qlab can run video, but due to it’s primary function, it has been placed under Audio. The Video section is concerned with the manipulation of video, while Streaming is listing the final platforms upon which said video is broadcast to the public. Video and Streaming are challenging to differentiate so we encourage exploring both sections!
